Metalware
The best material to express the Art Nouveau-style. Whiplashes and grotesque forms are best captured in pewter, bronze, cast-iron and steel: Think of the entrances of the Paris’ underground by Hector Guimard and what about the Eifel-tower in Paris!

WMF
As a sub-director from the Württembergische MetallwarenFabrik, Hugo Debach already experimented with “dinanderie” (mixed metalware) and glass-techniques. When he finally became thé director of the firm, he instantly founded the Art-department (“Neue Kunstgewerbliche Abteilung”). Production of the Ikora-glass and metall and of the Myra-glass was born!
The productname “IKORA” was called after the name of a tropical plant “Ixora” (in germanycalled “Vuurbrand”), with its many colours of its flowers referring to the bright colours of the patinated metall objects and the Ikora glass objects.
